God Is Doing a New Thing: Isaiah 43:19 Devotional

Isaiah 43:19

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

It’s Already Sprouting

Some seasons feel like nothing is happening.

You’re praying… but it feels quiet. You’re trying… but it feels slow. You’re hoping… but it feels delayed.

And meanwhile, life looks like a dry field. Cracked. Still. Unchanged. But God whispers something almost wild here: “It’s already happening. Not “I will.” Not “One day.” Now it springs up.

The seed doesn’t announce itself with fireworks.

It doesn’t knock on the soil and say, “Hey, I’m growing now.” It pushes quietly underground completely unseen.

And that’s where many of us lose heart. We expect visible change before we trust that God is moving. But heaven doesn’t work on surface-level evidence. God works in roots before results.

That shift in your thinking? That tiny bit of peace you felt yesterday? That moment you didn’t react the way you used to?

That’s not random. That’s the sprout and here’s the part that’ll hug your soul a little tighter:

God doesn’t just restore what was. He creates something new. Not patched. Not recycled. Not even “fixed enough to function.”

New.

So if today feels quiet, don’t mistake quiet for absence. It might just be the sound of something growing where you can’t yet see.

Prayer

Father,

Thank You that even when I can’t see it, You are working.

Help me trust what You are growing beneath the surface.

When I feel stuck, remind me that seeds take time.

When I feel forgotten, remind me that You are intentional.

Open my eyes to the “new thing” You are doing in my life—

even if it looks small, even if it feels hidden.

Give me patience for the process,

faith for the unseen,

and peace while I wait.

I trust You, not just in the breakthrough—

but in the becoming.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
