When God Closes a Door (And Deletes Your Website)… He’s Upgrading You
Let me tell you a story about the kind of plot twists only God can write.
I had spent weeks trying to build myself. I constantly had issues! The SSL was broken. The migration wouldn’t work. The DNS was having a tantrum. The whole thing felt cursed It was slow, messy, but I kept going trying to fix it and make it despite the fact that it wasn’t exactly optimal. Starting the whole thing over again was a terrifying thought.
Then I saw a Black Friday sale from my current web hosting service and thought, “I don’t know how to, but I’m going to buy this upgraded package anyways.
By this time of night, I was exhausted and not even thinking straight, and being honest, I had no clue what I was even doing.
In this moment, I stopped to pray in those most basic way I could! Simply, “Jesus take the wheel. I’m tired and I don’t even know what I’m doing” and proceeded
I accidentally ended up creating a new website and migrating my domain name to that new website which had nothing on it.
Ooooofff! then of course I couldn’t get back in to my old WordPress site after the domain detatched, BUT, long story short whilst trying to manually move it, I accidentally deleted the whole thing!
THE.
ENTIRE.
SITE.
Gone.
Vanishé.
Poof.
Digital rapture.
No backup.
No safety net.
No undo button.
Just me, my tears, and the Holy Spirit looking at me like “Daughter… breathe. I’m doing something.”
Sometimes God Has to Break What You’re Trying Too Hard to Fix
My old site wasn’t wrong, but it wasn’t right anymore. It was slow, cluttered, overloaded with plugins. It was built on an old version of me. A version who didn’t know what she knows now.
I kept trying to patch it, heal it, save it rescue it and and so on. But God didn’t want me to fix the old. He wanted me to outgrow it.
What felt like destruction was actually divine demolition. Because sometimes God looks at the thing we’re desperately trying to repair and says, “No, love. That was for who you were. Let Me build something new for who you are now.”
An Accidental Delete Is Often a Heavenly Reset
When that site disappeared, a strange thing happened.
Instead of spiraling, I said “Stuff this. I’m rebuilding because what choice do I have? ”That wasn’t anger. That was rebirth!
And suddenly… I knew exactly what to do. I rebuilt the entire skeleton in ONE hour. Everything was cleaner. Everything was faster. Everything made sense. Everything felt LIGHT.
Because when God clears something, He clears the clutter that was holding you back.
Rebuilding wasn’t hard.It was EASY. Because I’d already been trained for it through struggle, confusion, trial, and error. I hadn’t realised just how much I had learned trying to build the old website. Rebuilding just flowed and I enjoyed the process and surprised myself at every turn at how much I actually knew.
I didn’t lose anything. I gained a whole new level.
This is how God works. He lets something fall apart so you can see what you’re capable of when you build from freedom, not fear.
Every hardship is a lesson. It really doesn’t make us stronger.
God Doesn’t Want You Living in “Patch Mode” Anymore
We keep trying to stitch together the old season:
- old friendships
- old behaviours
- old coping mechanisms
- old systems
- old mindsets
- old identities
- old environments
We tape things, glue things, force things, begging them to work just a little longer.
But patching isn’t growth. And God doesn’t bless “almost.” He blesses new wine in new wineskins. The old can’t hold your anointing anymore. It keeps leaking. So He lets it crack.
Not to punish you, but to SAVE you from spending another year maintaining something that can’t carry your destiny.
The Upgrade Always Feels Like Chaos Before It Feels Like Breakthrough
On the outside it may look like a loss at the time, but on the inside, heaven is softly laughing like “she has no idea what is coming next, just wait”.
God does His best upgrades in the dark when sites break, relationships end, jobs collapse, when people fall away, when plans don’t work out, when doors start to slam shut.
He’s closing it to redirect you. And sometimes, He deletes the wrong door entirely because you wouldn’t stop knocking on it.

Last Night, Falling Asleep, I Finally Saw It Clearly
I wasn’t frustrated anymore. I wasn’t confused. I wasn’t overwhelmed. I was GRATEFUL.
Grateful for every glitch, delay, error, and deletion and the weeks I spent struggling to build the old website that just disappeared in to oblivion.
I am BEYOND grateful because God used all the chaos to TEACH me:
- how much I’ve grown
- how much knowledge I’ve gained
- how confident I’ve become
- how strong my foundation is now
- how capable I am when God is guiding my hands
I fell asleep praising Him because what looked like a wasted day was actually a day of promotion.
A day of spiritual training.
A day of identity activation.
A day of divine preparation.
The Moral of the Story? Trust God’s Deletes.
If God closes a door, locks a page, breaks a system, removes a person, shuts down an opportunity, or lets something collapse, It’s not rejection. It’s REDIRECTION and upgrading! God saying “You’re ready to step forward now”.
He isn’t taking something away from you. He is taking something out of your way. You’re being future-proofed by holy hands because he’s installing something new.
Starting from the ground up with knowledge and skills which god gave you is flow compared to trying to fix the old.
